Who is Black Sheep Comedy?

Black Sheep Comedy was launched by two ridiculous Alaskan sisters who love laughter, who love people who love to laugh, and who want to bring laughter to the Last Frontier. May we introduce ourselves – ladies and gentlemen, Anji Stubbs and Jeannine Jabaay <insert curtseying and bowing here>!

What is Black Sheep Comedy anyway?

Black Sheep Comedy hosts clean standup comedy events state-wide. Whereas most comedy clubs provide a stage where the jokes are referred to as "blue comedy" (look it up for yourself on Urban Dictionary... we won't go there), we're what you might call the "Black Sheep" of the comedy scene (in this case, that's a good thing).

Why does Black Sheep Comedy even exist?

If you've been in Alaska long, you've no doubt discovered the state's lack of clean-healthy-FUN in our on-stage comedy entertainment (we are, of course, making the massive assumption that you are indeed a funny person who enjoys standup comedy). If you love to laugh and WANT to repeat the jokes you heard to your mom, Black Sheep Comedy’s clean venues will offer you that!

“Black Sheep Comedy” has two purposes:

1. to give FUNNY PEOPLE an opportunity to develop, expand and stretch their funny bones, and
2. for others to enjoy entertainment that leaves them healthy, verses harmed and somewhat disturbed (ahem - see "blue comedy" reference above).

Where are the Black Sheep Comedy events held?

We're kind of all over the place. Our shows include:

• Comedy showcases
• Standup competitions
• Fundraisers
• Corporate events
• Church functions
• Private parties (birthday, reunions, anniversaries...)
  
• Random evenings of laughter

We're also pretty dashed-good (that's a word we can say in clean comedy) at emceeing events.
